Mahomes spent three years with the Red Raiders, putting up gaudy passing numbers but with a losing record as a starter. Mahomes went 13-16 as a starter, but as a senior threw for 5,052 yards and 41 touchdowns, while rushing for 12 touchdowns.

RGIII sees common thread in both of Patrick Mahomes' Super Bowl losses

The Kansas City Chiefs fell short in their quest to complete the NFL’s first-ever championship three-peat when they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

Though the reasons for the Chiefs’ loss were many, former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III took to Twitter to share his thoughts on what made the game go sideways for Kansas City.

In Griffin’s assessment, the Chiefs’ offensive line was to blame for Kansas City’s latest Super Bowl defeat, continuing a concerning trend from the team’s loss to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV.

Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes didn’t do Kansas City any favors by throwing two early interceptions, but the abysmal performance of the Chiefs’ offensive line certainly didn’t help the veteran signal-caller play well.

The 2025 NFL draft features one of the deepest tight end pools in recent history, but the wide receiver class lacks stardom. Both position groups took center stage at the Senior Bowl as top prospects from around the country converged on Mobile, Ala. Chiefs GM Brett Veach says K.C. has to 'think outside the box' in 2025 NFL draft

The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine kicks off the full evaluation process of the next class of rookies preparing to enter the league. The Kansas City Chiefs, due to their late postseason runs, enter another NFL draft with late-round picks.

Chiefs general manager shared his thoughts on the team’s process while selecting late in the draft each season during his combine press conference on Tuesday.

“It becomes more difficult, and that’s why the league is so great,” said Veach. “The more you win, the harder it’s supposed to be, and so when you have a bunch of guys who are the top of the market for their position, and you pick last or close to last every year, it becomes very challenging. We just have to think outside the box and put some creative plans together.”

The Chiefs have hit it big with late-round licks in previous seasons, with players such as Isiah Pacheco and Trey Smith going in the late rounds. Kansas City is currently slotted at 31st overall in the first round of this April’s Draft.
