3 Teams Are Showing Trade Interest In Robert Williams

The Portland Trail Blazers may be very busy next week before the trade deadline and they could part ways with a few of their bigger stars.

One of them may be Robert Williams, the 27-year-old big man who has generated a lot of interest on the market.

In fact, Evan Sidery is reporting that several title-contending teams in the Western Conference are intrigued by the idea of acquiring Williams.

Those teams are the Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, and Houston Rockets.

They have all expressed interest in Williams, but which one will get him, and how will he work out with a new team?

Robert Williams is generating a strong market from title-contending teams in the Western Conference.

The Lakers, Nuggets and Rockets have all recently expressed interest in trading for Williams.

Williams is averaging 5.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

It’s important to note that he has only played in 17 games this season, as injuries have once again been a problem for the big man.

Injuries have plagued him for years now, and he has never participated in more than 61 games in a season.

That means teams might be nervous about the idea of putting a lot of money and faith into Williams.

But he could be a very reliable backup big man for any of the teams mentioned.

The Lakers, Nuggets, and Rockets all consider themselves title contenders, which means they will take any potential trade very seriously.

The Blazers will as well, especially since they could be shipping off multiple stars next week.

There will be some tough bargaining on all sides and Williams could generate a lot of buzz and a big return for Portland.

He will likely be leaving the Blazers soon, and hopefully his next chapter will be a productive and healthy one.

Scoot Henderson Sends Warning To NBA About His Offense

Scoot Henderson of the Portland Trail Blazers has been playing with fire in his belly lately.

Over the past four games, he has averaged 25.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 7.8 assists per contest.

He was recently asked about the key for him offensively, according to Legion Hoops.

“Just attack. I know who I am,” Henderson said.

Asked to clarify, Henderson stated that he is “the dog … I’m a dawg.”

Henderson is clearly confident in himself and has every reason to be right now.

He has averaged 12.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game this season, shooting 42.7 percent from the field and 35 percent from the 3-point line.

Last season, he posted 14.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game.

This season has been a bit of a mixed bag for Henderson because he has had both good and bad nights.

He has scored double digits in certain games and then has managed single digits in others.

But he has been more consistent lately, and that is drawing a lot of attention and making Portland fans hopeful.

This season is may be completely lost for the Blazers, who are 13th in the West with a 14-28 record.

However, most people didn’t expect them to have a lot of success, so fans are paying closer attention to who is doing well and who is showing potential for the future.

Right now, Henderson is full of potential.

There has been some criticism about him since he entered the NBA last year, but Henderson believes in himself and wants to show that he’s one of the best young stars in the league.

If he keeps playing like this, many people will think that.

Trail Blazers Are Receiving Trade Interest On 2 Players

The chances of the Portland Trail Blazers bouncing back from their 13-25 record and becoming playoff contenders this year are slim.

That means they will probably make some moves before the upcoming NBA trade deadline, but which players will they send away?

According to Evan Sidery, the Blazers are receiving “strong trade interest” on two centers: Robert Williams and Duop Reath.

Sidery noted that Williams will cost more for an opposing team because he has a $12.4 million salary, while Reath is worth only $2 million annually.

— Evan Sidery (@esidery) January 13, 2025

Sidery also added that the Blazers will be “a primary seller” in the weeks ahead.

They aren’t in good shape now, they know it, and they are willing to do business with multiple teams in order to improve their future.

Williams has been on the radar of multiple teams.

The 27-year-old big man is averaging 6.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, although injuries have gotten in his way again and he has only played in 12 games in 2024-25.

Will his history of injuries hurt his chances of being traded to another team?

As for Reath, he is averaging 2.6 points and 1.1 rebounds this season, but he is playing for an average of just 6.5 minutes per game.

Sidery didn’t give insight into which teams are asking about Williams and Reath but we should expect them to be traded.

Both of these players will likely be on the move soon, but they may not be alone.

The Blazers could be creating packages for multiple players as they try to lay the groundwork for a better future.

The team could be looking radically different in the next few weeks.

Anfernee Simons Has Made Unique NBA History

The Portland Trail Blazers haven’t fared much better this season than last year.

As such, they’re a team to watch ahead of the trade deadline.

With that in mind, multiple teams might inquire about Anfernee Simons’ availability.

The combo guard has showcased his scoring prowess multiple times and recently joined a very exclusive list.

Legion Hoops (via Real App) reported that Simons has the seventh-most games with 30+ points without going to the free-throw line.

— Legion Hoops (@LegionHoops) January 7, 2025

He achieved that after scoring 36 points vs. the Detroit Pistons.

Simons knocked down 14 of 21 shots and 8 of 12 three-pointers, adding two rebounds and nine assists on the loss.

Of course, there are multiple ways to look at this.

On the one hand, it’s nice to watch someone play what some call ‘ethical hoops.’

Some fans have complained about the constant foul-baiting.

However, going to the free-throw line is also a skill that is practiced and used to be praised.

Perhaps the real issue here has to do with the referees.

The officials must officiate the game fairly, regardless of who’s getting the calls.

Players like James Harden, Joel Embiid, Trae Young, or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander usually get all the calls to go their way, even when the contact is marginal.

Others, like Simons, don’t get that benefit or superstar treatment.

It’s hard to think of a player taking 21 shots and not getting fouled even once.

Trail Blazers Are Fielding Trade Offers For Veteran Center

The Portland Trail Blazers could be very busy in the weeks ahead as the NBA trade deadline gets closer.

They are currently the 13th team in the West with a 9-18 record.

Their chances of turning things around this season are slim, so they are open to making trades and carving up the roster for the sake of the team’s future.

According to Evan Sidery, the Blazers are “fielding trade offers” for Duop Reath.

The big man is under contract through the 2025–26 season and is inexpensive at just $2 million a year.

For a low price point, a team could acquire Reath and benefit from his size.

The Trail Blazers are fielding trade offers for reserve big man Duop Reath.

Under contract through 2025-26 at only $2 million annually, any contending team in need of center depth could utilize Reath’s skill set.

— Evan Sidery (@esidery) December 20, 2024

Reath has spent his first two seasons in the NBA with the Blazers, averaging 8.0 points and 3.2 rebounds during his 16.0 minutes per game.

This season, Reath has played in 13 games for an average of just 6.4 minutes.

He hasn’t started a single game either, which shows how hard it is for him to earn a spot in Portland’s rotation.

But maybe that wouldn’t be the case with a different squad.

Reath could perhaps show off his skills, grow as a player, and do more for another team.

Maybe a change of scenery is exactly what he needs.

Acquiring him could be a smart move because his contract is light and easy to work with.

There are many upsides that could come from Reath and not a lot of risk, which is exactly what many teams desire this time of year.

His time with the Blazers could be coming to an end, but Reath might be on to bigger and better things soon.

Fans Are Roasting Scoot Henderson For His Performance In Last 2 Games

Portland Trail Blazers v Los Angeles Clippers

It’s been a tough season for the Portland Trail Blazers, especially because one of their biggest stars hasn’t been performing well lately.

According to NBACentral, Scoot Henderson has gone ice cold during his last two games.

He scored four points, two rebounds, and five assists a few days ago during a game against the San Antonio Spurs and posted just two points, one rebound, and four assists against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night.

One word was used repeatedly online by disappointed fans: “bust.”

Scoot Henderson over his last 2 games:

2 PTS – 0/4 FG – 0/2 3PT
4 PTS – 2/9 FG – 0/6 3PT

He’s now averaging 10.8 PPG, 40% FG, 28% 3PT, 49.5% TS on the season

— NBACentral (@TheDunkCentral) December 16, 2024

Many people came out and said that Henderson was a complete bust just two years into his NBA career.

So far this season, he is averaging 10.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists.

During his rookie year, he put up 14.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 5.4 assists.

Henderson definitely isn’t playing as well as he should, and that’s also true for the Trail Blazers.

The team holds an 8-18 record and is the 13th team in the West.

Because of that, a lot of people are wondering if they will commit to big changes in the weeks ahead before the NBA trade deadline.

If they do, will Henderson be part of any packages?

Or will other teams be hesitant to take Henderson because of how he’s been doing lately?

Henderson was selected as the third overall pick in the 2023 draft, but he hasn’t looked like a top-ten selection lately.

It doesn’t always have to be this way, of course, and Henderson can bounce back and play a lot better.

But if he has many more games like these two, the number of people questioning his future will only grow.
