New York Jets
Just Drafted
Jets fans, this is an automated news feed that shares what's going on in the world of the New York Jets.

One of the things #Jets HC Aaron Glenn loves about GM Darren Mougey is that he’s a ‘man’s man, which I like, he’s just a regular guy.’
They met 3 years ago & have stayed in contact over the years. Now they’re tied together in NY.

While all eyes in the NFL are on Super Bowl 59, the New York Jets have had massive breaking news surface regarding quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
According to FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer, the Jets have informed quarterback Aaron Rodgers that the team will be “moving on” from him in due time. He reportedly will not be on the team for the 2025 NFL season:
Big scoopage: Aaron Rodgers flew back to New Jersey last week to meet with the Jets about his future with the team, only to be told that the team was moving on from him. If that means that he will be a June 1 designation that allows him to sign with any team in the league on…

Rodgers, 41, just completed what was essentially his lone season in New York after his 2023 campaign was ruined right away by his season-ending Achilles injury.
The Jets finished 5-12 last year, but despite some early struggles, Rodgers did play better in the second half of the season which made many in New York wonder if he would be back with the team in 2025.
In a follow-up report, FOX Sports adds that the Jets moving on from Rodgers had more to do with his contract situation.
In removing Rodgers, the Jets’ new front office led by head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey have a completely clean sheet to work with in their first year.
Jets Wire will provide further updates as information is made available.
There is at least one player for the New York Jets that was not too happy about the update that Aaron Rodgers will no longer be with the team: Quinnen Williams.
In a bit of a Super Bowl weekend news dump, it was reported that Rodgers will not be with the Jets next season. The team plans to move on from him.
Williams, 27, does not seem to be extremely happy about it.
The defender posted two messages on his social media account on X/Twitter after he learned about the news. It appears he realized he should delete his commentary, because he did.
But the internet lives forever.
Screenshots caught Williams posting a thumbs down and he complained about a possible rebuild going forward in New York:
Quinnen Williams posted these earlier in response to the news of Aaron Rodgers not returning to the #Jets
The first he deleted then posted the second, & since he has deactivated his account on here

Williams, 27, was drafted No. 3 overall in the 2019 NFL draft by the Jets. During his tenure in New York, he has seen a slew of quarterback lineup for his team so it’s understandable that Williams is probably unhappy it did not work out with Rodgers.
Williams likely won’t be going anyway and we’ll have to wait and see where his feelings go. The Jets will need to figure out the QB position moving forward, but teams like the 2024 Denver Broncos have shown that one quick switch could make a world of difference.
Jets Wire will provide updates on the team throughout the offseason.

In a 40-22 final, the Eagles were very convincing. Philadelphia could be a force to be reckoned with moving forward.
In their efforts to win the 2025 championship, the Eagles did have some help from some “Jets connections.” Prior to the Super Bowl’s kickoff, we listed such former players on the Eagles heading into the game.

The New York Jets made their split with quarterback Aaron Rodgers all but official.
According to reports over Super Bowl weekend, the Jets had reportedly told Rodgers he would no longer be the team’s QB moving forward.
Reportedly Rodgers went to New York and spoke to new head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey and he was informed of the Jets’ decision.
The team has gone on to confirm that.
It remains to be seen how the specifics of how Rodgers will be released. New York’s front office could decide to rip the bandaid off and take a large $49 million dead cap hit in 2025 or split it up over the next two years with a “post-June 1” release designation.
Regardless, new head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey have a clean slate in front of them as the duo moves into their first offseason in charge of the Jets.
Speaking of that pair, Glenn and Mougey released a joint statement on the Rodgers decision which can be found below:
“Last week we met with Aaron and shared that our intention was to move in a different direction at quarterback,” said HC Aaron Glenn and GM Darren Mougey in a statement released by the team. “It was important to have this discussion now to provide clarity and enable each of us the proper time to plan for our respective futures. We want to thank him for the leadership, passion, and dedication he brought to the organization and wish him success moving forward.”Related
